Child care

'Let the child be the scriptwriter, the director, and the actor in his play'

Research shows that children in slums, where both parents are employed, are particularly vulnerable. Their basic needs—such as food, education, and healthcare—often go unmet. As a result, many of these children experience malnutrition and do not complete their secondary education, leading to high dropout rates. In our approach towards providing an enabling environment of opportunities to new educational trajectories and achieve a sense of wellbeing, we have projects operating in Thane and Pune locations. with the vision of creating an inclusive and safe learning environment for every child, where they feel secure and at home.

The DCC( Day Care centre ) provides a thriving environment, a quality daycare program which offers fun and engaging experiences that support child’s development of critical social skills. These children, aged 2 to 16 years, represent various school grades. Younger children attend from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm before their regular school hours, while older children come from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm after their school day ends. The centre runs 6 days a week. In addition to Study and Support classes, the center hosts a variety of activities for DCC children, including art and craft workshops, career counseling, karate classes, chess workshops, and celebrations of various festivals and important events.

Our children are the future, making it essential for them to be educated about environmental issues, the importance of a clean planet through tree planting initiatives.

Our vision is to develop a lush, biodiverse, and sustainable world for future generations by sparking a significant environmental revolution through trees. The objective of Proaction Foundation’s ‘Go Green Project’ is to encourage students to transcend theoretical learning and engage in practical action. This environmental extracurricular program emphasizes hands-on, thought-provoking activities that foster connections between students and both their peers and the environment. The project envisions schools featuring green backyard orchards, agroforestry, vegetable and kitchen gardens, and herbal gardens—creating clean, green spaces that encourage discussions on environmental protection and promote various green initiatives.

With this in mind, we launched the Go Green Project at Raisina Bengali Senior Secondary School in C.R. Park, New Delhi, focusing on tree planting and environmental awareness. The Proaction team selected 50 students from grades 7 to 12 to form the ‘Eco Club’ and organized an essay and drawing competition on “Protect Our Environment Against Pollution and Global Warming.” Winners were awarded prizes, followed by a musical concert.

Eco Club members, along with staff, led the planting of saplings, engaging all students in the school garden. This initiative fosters skill development, creative thinking, and social responsibility. Additionally, students were encouraged to spread environmental awareness within their families and communities, strengthening community bonds and relationships.
